Engineering Intern - Design/Manufacturing/Quality/Sourcing

JAKTOOL is accepting applications for Engineering Interns to support hands-on work across design engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and/or sourcing. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining real-world experience contributing to product development and production support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do (Depending on Team Assignment)
- Assist with CAD design work, concept development, and design reviews
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, and evaluation
- Help maintain product documentation (drawings, specs, assembly instructions)
- Participate in quality inspections using precision measurement tools
- Contribute to research on materials, processes, and industry trends
- Work hands-on in the machine shop and production area, supporting prototype builds and manufacturing activities (e.g., assisting with manual/CNC machining workflows, setups, and preventative maintenance/calibration of equipment)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and quality control
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a team-based environment
- Motivation to learn and take initiative
Bonus experience (not required):
- CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, CNC)
- Measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T
